At D8a, we have high-resolution full-colour duplex A4 scanners and competent staff
that can organise, scan, collate and archive your hard-copy documents. Your documents
will be provided back to you as high-resolution TIFF images on DVD-ROM. If required,
we can collate the scans and provide them as PDF or DjVu files also.
Archive Database
The Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG) wanted to take things further. They
wanted to make their archive, comprising 35 years' of journal articles, available
to their members and to the wider geoscience community.
ASEG required a freely distributable stand-alone database that would allow their
archive to be searched and the abstracts to be viewed. Those who had purchased the
archive would be able to access the full PDF version of the selected paper from
this interface.
D8a Pty Ltd provided the database and archive in two formats: A set of two DVD ROM
discs and a set of eleven CDROM discs. Each year, we provide an updated database
and companion CDROM that contains all of the journal articles from the previous
year.
The following are some screen-shots from this product. The first shows the user
interface with a zoom in on the search dialog box. The subsequent images shows the
result of a search and the in-line display of an abstract.
